What is 'Discipleship One-to-One'?

Thinking about what Discipleship really means, helps followers of Jesus deepen their early walk with him.
It goes beyond simply teaching the right moves - go to church, pray, read the Bible, share the gospel - and focuses on the daily walk which drives discipleship: the love of Christ. The greatest love anyone can ever know.
This nine-session journey is ideal for believers at any stage of their Christian life.

Who should attend?

This is open to all who want to deepen their knowledge of, and love for Jesus.  You may have just finished Christianity Explored or Life Explored, been baptised, or just looking to continue your journey into God’s word, looking to understand more about the way he wants you to live your life.

What will we talk about?

Each session will focus on a main topic and an opportunity to delve deeper into the subject material.
These are the session titles …

Session 1: Christ at the centre. How to be sure you are a Christian
Session 2: Attributes of God.
Session 3: How to know the Bible.
Session 4: Prayer.
Session 5: The Spirit-filled life.
Session 6: Fellowship.
Session 7: Witnessing.
Session 8: Temptation.
Session 9: Obedience in the Christian Walk.
Each week there is also reading and preparation to do for the next session, with questions to help you get the most from the study materials.
We will then take questions and focus on the key learning opportunities at the next session.

Group size?

This course can be run as a 1:1 or very small group activity.
With 1:1 you agree with your mentor where and when you will meet.
Small groups will agree with their mentor where and when they will meet but usually in the church or the mentors home.
Larger groups will meet at the church but will consist of more than two very small groups who meet together then in breakout rooms.
Online is also an option for 1:1 and small groups. (Zoom or other platform)

You will have access to someone to whom you can ask questions throughout the course.
